Knowing God's Love - Part 4 of 5

The girl and I talked for almost 2 hours. I am not sure she had ever had anyone listen to her and want her opinions before. As we were finishing for the night, we talked about why she was here in San Antonio. The Youth Gathering was the first thing she had ever wanted for herself that her grandparents might now approve. However, she took their grudging approval and ran with it. God got this girl to San Antonio where she had experience the Grace of God. We talked about discovering who she was and what she wanted out of life.

This girl trying to be perfect makes me sad. She was aghast when I asked her to write in her Bible. I pointed her to Jeremiah 29:11. I reminded her that she was loved from the moment she was conceived. God loved her from that moment and he saw her and declared her good. Finally, I shared that the only perfect person in the Bible was Jesus. God does not expect perfection but love and from love obedience.
